The Youth Job programme, a capacity-building programme to facilitate the employability of 100 young graduates seeking professional opportunities, was launched on Thursday 1 February 2024 in Abidjan.

Initiated and piloted by the International Youth Organisation YOUTH EDUCATION through its AY SOLUTIONS Centre, this project is being carried out with the financial support of the "Decent Employment for a Just Transition Special Initiative", implemented by GIZ Côte d'Ivoire, operating under the "Invest for Jobs" brand.

At the launch ceremony, which took place at the Palm Club Hotel, the founder of Youth Education, Franck Gozé, reaffirmed the ambitions of this programme for the professional integration of young graduates in Côte d'Ivoire. "Through our Youth Job programme, Youth Education aims to help achieve the goal of zero unemployment in Côte d'Ivoire. We are just at the beginning of an adventure that aims to extend throughout Côte d'Ivoire and even beyond, integrating a larger number of young people with each new edition".

Aurore Clenat, Project Coordinator of the GIZ programme that implements Invest for Jobs in Côte d'Ivoire, also welcomed the collaboration with Youth Education and expressed her faith that the programme's objectives would be achieved. "The German Development Cooperation has renewed its confidence in Youth Education for this new edition, because of its reliability, proven experience and the excellent results obtained in the previous edition. The fact that we can count on a local partner in our commitment to employment in Côte d'Ivoire encourages us to step up our investment in this type of project", she declared.

The Youth Job programme will run for ten months. It will include training modules on technical skills, cross-cutting skills and entrepreneurial skills. Participants will also benefit from individual support throughout the process of their professional integration.

The beneficiaries of the programme expressed their delight at being able to take part in this initiative. "Since leaving school, I've found it very difficult to get a job. I'd like to thank Youth Education for this opportunity, and I'm determined to do everything I can to find a job," said one participant.

The launch of the Youth Job programme marks a new step towards the professional empowerment of young people in Côte d'Ivoire.
