Aviation, first a passion, then a business
Salomon N’Guessan & Yera Eric

Very passionate about travel, after obtaining the BAC A1 in modern letters and communication at UV of Bouaké, he abandoned this sector to enroll in an aviation school in Abidjan. In order to pursue his dream. In 2010, he graduated at the top of his promotion with distinction in the area of pricing. In 2013, he was ranked best student consultant in travel and tourism in Africa. Discovering Salomon N’guessan.

How do you start your professional career?
After my training, I was recruited as a trainer by one of the best aviation schools in Cote d’Ivoire, then head of the Cocody center, before being transferred to the country of honest men (Burkina Faso) as assistant director for the setting-up and opening of the first IATA school in this country. It is then in 2019 having obtained all these interpersonal and operational skills that I decide to stand on my own two feet.

How does the adventure start for you in entrepreneurship?
I thought I had obtained enough skills from my first bosses, business managers, colleagues and especially my students, I felt in me other challenges in particular entrepreneurship. As a result, I launched myself without hesitation.

What does your job as a “travel consultant” consist of very clearly?
The travel consultant is the one who is able to guide, advise traveling customers on how to obtain the necessary documents and procedures related to an international trip, capable of organizing a package trip with the best possible prices. However, I also train IATA students and enthusiasts of air transport and tourism and I also coach new managers of travel agencies on the use of airline ticket booking software.

What is the best memory you have of your entrepreneurial life?
The phone calls from my very first clients seeking to meet me and especially the strength that God gave me to overcome difficulties and the fear of failing.

What is your turnover?
The 2019 balance sheet is being processed with the accountant, however it must be said that it is very positive. 2020 also started well until the health situation slowed down our activities. We are working to really hold on and have a very satisfactory 2020 balance sheet.

Would you recommend others to go into business and start an enterprise?
Yes and I would say that to embark in entrepreneurship, it is necessary first of all to have faith in God and to believe in the potentials that we have, in our capacities, to listen to the advice of the predecessors in entrepreneurship, to have enough courage and especially not to be afraid of the difficulties. Because wealth is found in entrepreneurship.
