INTERNATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH DAY: AWARENESS SESSION WITH YOUTH EDUCATION MALI

📍 Mali

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Youth Education Mali brought together 15 young women at the IMAKO Ikasso Institute for a session of discussion, reflection, and sharing on mental well-being.

Under the inspiring moderation of Dr. Adizatou Walette Albachar, the discussion circle focused on an essential theme: Taking care of oneself – an act of survival or a luxury?

Through debates, interventions, games, and the symbolic creation of a “well-being tree,” participants explored what self-care truly means: a luxury for some, but above all an act of survival and resilience.

According to the WHO, 1 in 7 young people lives with a mental disorder, and in Africa, nearly 150 million people are affected. Talking, listening, and supporting each other is already a first step toward well-being.
